Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
ACAPS 2023
The Australian Community Attitudes to Privacy Survey (ACAPS) is a significant study examining Australians' perceptions and behaviours regarding privacy. Conducted by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), its goals include understanding attitudes over time and aiding policy decisions.
The Being Group, having previously collaborated with OAIC on Consumer Data Right videos, was tasked with creating launch videos for the 2023 survey. Their approach aimed to humanise the research and raise awareness about privacy issues.
Using a mix of animation and vox pop interviews, the videos feature a circle motif to maintain visual consistency. Interviewees were prompted naturally to elicit genuine responses, shot in an authentic style against stylised studio backdrops.
Pre-production involved developing style frames and storyboards for visual alignment. Live action footage and photography were captured, showcasing interviewees against subtle backdrop colours to complement the subject matter.
Post-production included editing content into various formats for OAIC's marketing channels. The result is a compelling and insightful portrayal of an important societal issue.
